Clery Coordinator & Assistant Compliance Officer

This position serves as the University's Clery Coordinator, with primary responsibility for coordinating and overseeing institutional compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and its implementing regulations. The position manages Clery crime data collection and reconciliation, Clery geography determinations, coordination with campus and local law enforcement, preparation of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report, issuance of required Clery notices, policy review, and training of Campus Security Authorities. In a secondary capacity, the position supports the Office of University Compliance by assisting with formal compliance investigations and related regulatory responsibilities, as assigned. These duties are subordinate to the position's primary Clery Act coordination function. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. Working knowledge of the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and its implementing regulations. Knowledge of federal and state higher education compliance frameworks, including campus safety, civil rights, and institutional reporting obligations. Knowledge of higher education governance structures, institutional policies, and law enforcement coordination. Knowledge of investigative standards, due process principles, and confidentiality requirements applicable to compliance investigations. Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements to varied and fact-specific situations. Ability to analyze, reconcile, and validate institutional data from multiple sources for regulatory reporting purposes. Strong written communication skills, including the ability to draft formal reports, regulatory disclosures, and training materials. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with law enforcement, administrators, faculty, and staff regarding sensitive compliance matters. Ability to manage competing deadlines and regulatory timelines with minimal supervision. Ability to monitor, interpret, and apply evolving federal guidance, regulatory updates, and enforcement trends that impact Clery Act compliance and related civil rights obligations. Ability to exercise independent judgment in applying institutional policy and regulatory standards and to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Ability to assess institutional risk and escalate issues appropriately. Ability to work independently under general direction and to develop processes or procedures in response to changing regulatory requirements. Required Qualifications. Bachelor's degree or Associate's Degree/ Two years of College Two (2) years of related work experience or four (4) years of related work experience. Experience with regulatory compliance, investigations, and/or higher education compliance. Preferred Qualifications. Master's degree, Juris Doctor (JD), and/or PhD. Clery Act compliance experience Law enforcement experience. Title IX/civil rights compliance experience Higher education experience.
