As a faculty member in the School of Veterinary Medicine, you will be expected to:Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and external veterinary partners to support the mission of the School of Veterinary Medicine to educate practice-ready veterinarians and strengthen the rural and regional veterinary workforce of Texas and surrounding regions;Contribute to the teaching mission of the School—primarily in food animal medicine, surgery, herd health, and production medicine with an emphasis on practical clinical decision-making relevant to rural veterinary practice, including:delivering didactic lectures within the pre-clinical veterinary curriculum,developing and facilitating hands-on laboratory instruction,contributing to case-based and clinical presentation courses,providing clinical instruction and mentorship of veterinary students during field-based teaching activities and clinical year rotations conducted through partner veterinary practices, andactively participating in curriculum development, course coordination, and assessment of student learning in alignment with the competency-based veterinary education framework utilized by the SVM;Contribute to the scholarship activities of the School through:participation in collaborative clinical or applied research programs relevant to food-animal medicine, production agriculture, or rural veterinary practice,efforts to secure extramural funding to support scholarship, anddissemination of scholarship through activities such as presentations, CE programs, and publications;Provide service to the School, University, and profession through:Committee work, as assigned,Outreach and continuing education activities that support livestock producers, practicing veterinarians, and the agricultural communities served by the Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine, and.
