The Shift Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, inspecting, diagnosing, and troubleshooting a wide range of industrial equipment. This position actively supports the repair, installation, rebuilding, and upgrading of equipment and systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations. The role requires working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic automation systems, as well as an understanding of process controls. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment. Perform corrective and preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and ensure efficient operation. Repair mechanical failures, including replacing bearings, motors, drives, and PLC components. Rebuild pumps and replace mechanical seals as required. Install, maintain, and upgrade industrial equipment and systems. Perform welding tasks using MIG and arc welding equipment. Support equipment start ups, shutdowns, and changeovers as needed. Assist with maintenance activities involving basic automation and robotics technologies. Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and communicate equipment issues to team members and leadership. Ensure compliance with all plant rules, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements. Perform other duties as assigned to support plant operations. Minimum of three (3) years of progressive, related maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications. Strong mechanical, electrical, and analytical troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and drawings. Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team. Strong safety awareness and commitment to safe work practices. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends as needed. Icing on the cake:Industrial or technical certification preferred.
