The Field Safety Technician assists in the administration and overall supervision of project safety and accident and fire protection programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Site Manager \/ Area Safety Manager; Assigned duties according to specific procedures \/ work is checked frequently. Essential Qualifications: Technical training and\/or industrial related safety experience Post-offer drug\/alcohol screen and physical evaluation Job site safety requirements (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.) Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.) Applicant\/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others at the workplace Functional Requirements: Conducts regular walk through inspections of construction areas; identifies, documents and recommends resolutions of hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions and follows through to ensure that corrections have been made; documents and investigates all accidents, safety violations and other unsafe conditions or activities; compiles data, photographs, etc. and prepares all pertinent forms and reports according to corporate procedures and federal, state and local regulations associated with accidents; issues various entry permits (i.e. to confined spaces) as required; assists in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through interfacing with management\/supervisory personnel; participates in developing and conducting personnel safety training programs.
