The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking highly qualified candidates for: Information Systems Supervisor - (WWS) Information Technology Division. NOTE: Announcement will remain open until a sufficient number of applications are received and may close at any time. The Water and Wastewater Services (WWS) Information Technology Division is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Information Systems Supervisor (ISS). This is a non-remote work position. This position will also be serving as a lead for other Systems Analysts to guide the efforts for research, maintenance and support of WWS’ critical infrastructure systems. This position's role/function will be responsible for enhancing Security for WWS networks, The functions include and are not limited to supervision of staff for the support, and continuity of operations for mission critical infrastructure systems at Water & Wastewater Services (WWS). This is a highly technical function which requires proprietary knowledge of these mission critical infrastructure systems. The position will be responsible to come with a strategy to migrate On Premise infrastructure to Azure cloud . The position will be responsible for the support and enhancement of the Red. Hat Openshift cluster at WWS. The position will be responsible for the support and enhance the Infrastructure that supports the Camera system at WWS. General Description. Installs, configures, manages, monitors, and maintains the County network, security, and remote access infrastructure. Works under administrative supervision, developing and implementing programs within organizational policies and reports major activities to executive level administrators through conferences and reports. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements. Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science or closely related field.(One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.)Requires four (4) years in systems analysis, systems design and/or programming experience relevant to area of assignment including six (6) months lead work/supervisory experience. Special Certifications and Licenses. None. Preference- Master's degree in Computer Science or closely related field- ITIL Certification- Microsoft Certification- Security Certification- Linux/ Unix Certification - Five (5) years of experience with virtualization technologies- Five (5) years of experience in patching tools for Windows and Unix- Five (5) years of experience with Cloud (AWS/ Azure)- Five (5) years of experience in Service Desk tools like ServiceNow- Experience in handling/supervising an IT Service Desk- Excellent communication skills and experience effectively interfacing with both technical and non-technical personnel SCOPE OF WORK Duties and Responsibilities. The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary. Plans, organizes and implements approved emerging technologies. Mentors and develops analysts and technical support staff to ensure that they maintain the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities which are to support implemented applications, systems, and solutions. Documents procedures used to teach and mentor. Works in lock step with Virtual Environment, IT Security, and Physical Security teams to review and refine IT infrastructure management procedures to meet security goals. Improves the Infrastructure that supports the camera security system at WWS, including documentation. Provides service desk level 2 support including, taking incoming support calls, going on service calls to any WWS site. Utilizing Service-now to review, update and resolve any incident or request task. Acts as a liaison with assigned agency's technical staff including testing and troubleshooting system problems; assists staff with creating/running reports; represents agency on projects related to the financial system. Reviews IT (information technology) paperwork, approves leave, end user requests and other IT related work; manages projects and assists in IT related work including fiber replacement, e. Fax implementation, Office Suite upgrades, PC (personal computer) rollouts, W 11 (Windows 11) upgrades, UPS (uninterruptible power supply) replacements, Wi-Fi (wireless fidelity) projects, laptop and tablet upgrades, as well as other IT related projects. Performs administrative office duties including procurement of IT hardware and software, enters purchase orders, maintains files, maintains software licenses, works on disaster recovery and maintains yearly capital and operating budget. Performs Server Administration tasks working with user accounts, quarterly account audits, provides access to groups, shares, server resources, and monthly after hours on-call rotation every three months. Manages projects and advises senior management, supervisor, and staff providing project management documentation, timelines, advising on project direction and solutions, responding to senior management report requests. Supervises, assigns work, and is responsible for the performance of software support staff including preparing annual performance reviews, approving leave requests, meeting and following up on a regular basis to ensure success with projects. WORK ENVIRONMENT Physical Demands Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement. Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
