Support the execution of the design, analysis, or evaluation in assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program / project requirements. Possess technical experience and proven expertise in one or more of the following areas:Reactor core design and analysis. Radiation shielding design and analysis. Nuclear fuel analysis and qualification. Criticality safety. Reactor multiphysics analysis, especially pertaining to transient analysis. Nuclear analysis software development, verification and validation. Other areas of nuclear engineering or nuclear physics relevant to the design and analysis of small modular reactors, microreactors, and nuclear facilities. Support the management of engineering resources across multiple projects and ensure qualified engineers are performing assigned work. Lead design cycle sprints and provide direction to ensure the convergence of efforts of engineering team members, partners, and suppliers to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality engineering work products, on schedule and within budget as defined by the Project leadership. May manage engineering staff by ensuring they are meeting expectations and promoting their professional development. Influence and support the development of strategy, methodology and technical tools for the area of responsibility. Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, tools, or services. Use judgement to support decision making and the handling of complex tasks or problems in areas of operations, product management, technology, or engineering. Work within a multidisciplinary engineering team to create the next generation nuclear power plants. Perform work in accordance with design control procedures, ensuring thorough documentation of work, facilitation of internal and external design reviews, and control of product design configuration data. Maintain a professional demeanor and behavior at all times, in all forms of communication. Perform other duties as assigned by manager. Job Profile Minimum Qualifications. Bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering or related technical discipline from an accredited university or college. Typically, seven years of engineering experience. Graduate degrees typically count as two plus years of experience. Preferred Skills: Experience with Reactor Physics codes and methods (MCNP, SCALE, SERPENT)Experience with NQA-1 in a nuclear environment. Previous Team Lead or Management experience preferred. Location: 530 Gaither Road, Rockville, MD - Work Site Expectations: 4 days per week in office. Travel Expectations: up to 10% as needed. Hours: standard office schedule is 8:00 am-5:00 pm ET, Mon-Fri.
