The primary purpose of the Neurophysiology Technologist position is to perform multiple modality evoked potentials, EE - Gs, nerve conductions as well as intra-operative monitoring. Perform duties in accordance with a positive attitude in a team environment. On-call responsibilities are rotated among the team. Essential Functions: - Performs neurophysiology tests including electroencephalographs (EE - Gs), intra-operative monitoring (IO - Ms), electromyographys (EM - Gs) and evoked potentials. - Maintains statistical data. - Participates in the development of new procedures. - Participates in rotation on taking call. - Obtain standard recordings - Following ASET / ACNS guidelines. - Determine normal standards for patients. - Report significant changes. - Recognize artifacts. - Perform all necessary troubleshooting with suboptimal results prior and during the testing procedure EDUCATION:Required: High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by the completion of an approved training course or on the job training in electrocephalographic technique. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree Physical or Biological Sciences and completion of an approved training course or on the job training in electrocephalographic technique. EXPERIENCE:Required: Two years in neurophysiology using EE - Gs, IO - Ms, EM - Gs and evoked potential testing. With preferred degree, one year of required experience. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: One or more of the following are preferred upon hire:CNIM - Cert Neurophy Intraop Mtrg Certification in neurophysiologic intraoperative monitoring (CNIM). EEG - Electroencephalographic Tech Registration in electroencephalographic technology (EEG)EP - Evoked Potential Tech Registration in evoked potential technology (R EP T) by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologist (ABRET). EMG - Reg in Electromyography Registration in electromyography (EMG) by the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (AAET).
