What you will be doing:In this role, you will provide paraprofessional accounting support for the Section of Women’s, Children’s, and Family Health and the Alaska Breast and Cervical Screening Assistance Program. Your responsibilities will include processing medical claims; reviewing and coding vendor invoices; validating encumbrances and Reimbursable Services Agreements (RS - As) for payment; tracking and maintaining program budgets; performing ongoing financial analysis; preparing specialized financial reports; conducting complex cost accounting reconciliations; and assisting with federal budget development. You will play a critical role in supporting program operations by establishing and maintaining a complex medical services billing and authorization network, ensuring accuracy and compliance through ongoing claims processing, data entry, evaluation, and reconciliation. The working environment you can expect:This position is in the Frontier Building in midtown Anchorage. There is currently an option for a hybrid telework structure after the initial probation period. Substitutions:Certification as an Accounting Technician from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience. Post-secondary education from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month) if it includes at least 6 semester/8 quarter hours in Accounting.
