Performs routine general service tasks in kitchen, cafeteria, dining room, dish room, and patient feeding area. Sets up assigned station in work area. May perform the following tasks as required: Brews coffee, fills beverage machines, fills yogurt machine, sets up hot and/or cold food areas, salad bar area, stocks and dismantles condiment area and replenishes paper and china supplies. Maintains merchandising in-service areas. Prepares, portions, assembles and labels patient and non-patient food items. Works on patient tray assembly area. Stocks and maintains beverage carts. Works in dish room, scrapping trays, loading and unloading dish machine and sorting silverware, if required. Delivers patient trays to clinical areas, if required. Communicates with patient care areas to identify needs and reacts accordingly. Cleans tables, counters and various types of kitchen equipment and sweeps and mops floors. Assists with Pantry standard assembly, if required. Assists with catered events, if required. Follows daily routine for cash register set-up involving duties such as: Efficient layout of cash drawer, confirm adequate supply of register tapes, point of sale merchandise, general housekeeping of register stand, register and scale. Reconciles cash drawer at the end of the shift or as required. Ensures cash drawer is balanced and that all sales are properly recorded. Records all appropriate meal information for volunteers, students, employees and physicians. Submits all information to the designated person at the end of each shift. Removes trash from department and transports to disposal area. Adheres to all sanitation procedures. Adheres to all established systems and training programs to provide a safe environment. Complies with all OSHA regulations and other local, state and federal regulations. Maintains compliance with ARAMARK/ CCMC’s standards of operation, client and within ARAMARK/ CCMC’S Business Conduct Policy. Maintains all records and reports necessary to comply with ARAMARK/ HSS, government and accrediting agency standards, regulations and codes. Maintains compliance with all requirements of Federal, State and local regulations and guidelines including the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, as amended, and the Americans with Disabilities Act, as amended. Demonstrates support for the mission, values and goals of the organization through behaviors that are consistent with the CT Children's STANDARDS. Performs all other related duties. Education and/or Experience Preferred: Preferred: High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or a higher level of education that would require the completion of high school Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Ability to maintain friendly, efficient, Spirit of Service attitude towards customers, co-workers and clients. Ability to communicate (both verbal and written) effectively. Ability to apply elementary math functions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to work well under time constraints.
