Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Property & Supply Worker for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O). Among the key duties of this position are the following: Provides basic material handling support for the Material Services operations. This position is responsible for the loading, delivery and unloading of furniture, equipment, surplus and records. This position also drives trucks and vans while picking up and delivering furniture, equipment, surplus and records. Ability to oversee outside vendors and student employees to ensure compliance with University policies and procedures. Two (2) years of driving experience and the ability to operate large trucks with hydraulic tailgate and a fork lift are also necessary. Certifications/ Licenses New Jersey driver’s license and completion of the Rutgers Defensive Driving Course required. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to assemble furniture plus a general knowledge of repairing, and use of hand and electric tools. Preferred Qualifications Large truck driving and fork lift truck experience preferred. Equipment Utilized Material handling tools, barcode scanner, mobile PC Physical Demands and Work Environment PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Ability to lift up to 70 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office environment. Moderate noise. In addition to working in an office setting, employee will be required to work in both Receiving & Supply Center environments. There may be significant travel between University campuses.
