We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Service Engineer (FSE) supporting Abbott Molecular by delivering primary-level instrument field service to customers, field sales partners, and technical support teams. This is a field-based remote role. The role covers the territory of Northern New Jersey, Long Island, and New York City. Qualified candidates must be located within the territory. What You’ll Work On Provide front-line field service and technical support for Abbott Molecular diagnostic instrument systems within an assigned territory. Install, verify, maintain, and repair instrument systems in customer laboratory environments. Perform preventive maintenance, calibrations, and hardware/software upgrades. Troubleshoot system issues remotely and on-site to ensure reliable instrument performance. Develop technical expertise across current and new Molecular instrument platforms. Manage spare parts inventory and maintain accurate service and call documentation. Support customers through training, demonstrations, and technical consultations. Collaborate with service leadership and field teams; share feedback to improve service documentation and processes. Participate in service meetings, training sessions, and provide backup support outside the assigned territory as needed. Required Qualifications. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, Life Sciences, or Molecular Science. Ability to troubleshoot and repair electromechanical, software-controlled instrument systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-focused mindset. Ability to document service work accurately and follow quality and compliance procedures. Proficiency with PC-based software and standard business tools (MS Word, Excel, Access)Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Willingness to travel 75% as business needs require. Valid driver’s license Preferred Qualifications 2 years of field service experience supporting electromechanical instruments. Experience with motion control, mechanical alignment, and hardware fabrication basics. Familiarity with laboratory tools such as multimeters and data acquisition equipment - Participants who complete a short wellness assessment qualify for FREE coverage in our HIP PPO medical plan.
