Safely operate heavy equipment to excavate, move, load and grade earth, rock, gravel, and other materials. Perform various activities including but not limited to: road building, fine grading, finishing, sloping, banking, backfilling, demolition, ditching, loading, excavating, stockpiling, road surface maintenance, building and maintaining road berms, loading trucks, and trenching. Operate equipment proficiently and safely. Ensure operation of equipment is within capabilities and limitations. Perform required safety inspections and complete documentation. Maintain a clean and safe job site. Perform other duties as required. Work Experience. Must have construction experience / heavy construction preferred. Minimum of 5 year experience required. Batch Plant experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities. Workers should be able to:Read engineering drawing. Work Safely. Work outdoors in all weather conditions. Follow instructions and meet set standards. Judge distances and slopes accurately. Make decisions based on verifiable standards. Physically, workers must be able to:Stoop, bend, and crouch. Use hands, arms, and legs fully. See well (either naturally or with correction)Lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
