ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Work with the presiding judges in all areas. Monitors horse and driver activities and assesses fines and/or suspensions as necessary for rules violations. Communicate to judges and drivers as penalties are levied. Controls the post parade and formation of the horses until the race is underway. Understands and enforces rules as set by the United States Trotting Association, and reports violations. May assist in placing horses if requested by the judges. May act as an associate judge if requested by the presiding judge. Communicate (both written and verbal) with and promote positive team member and guest relations. Maintain professionalism at all times when working with other team members and/or guests. Performs all other duties as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES Must hold accredited starter’s license. Must have thorough knowledge of all rules of the United States Trotting Association. Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the necessary functions of this position. Ability to consistently comprehend, retain and execute written, verbal and demonstrated directions, explanations and guidance EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School Dimploma or Equivalent
