Responsible for coordinating the development, management and supervision of all fitness programs, which include but not limited to Group exercise, personal training, instructional programs and wellness activities. The coordinator will assist the Associate Director with hiring, training, scheduling, supervision and evaluation of group exercise instructors and personal trainers. Instructing/leading exercise classes/programs as needed. The position will serve as manger on duty a minimum of three times a week and occasional weekends. As manager on duty, this individual will manage the day-to-day operations of the fitness center to include supervision of staff, financial transactions, member sales and service. Essential Functions:Coordinate the oversight of all health and fitness programs, which include but are not limited to group fitness, personal training, instructional programs and wellness activities. Act as Manager on Duty a minimum of three times a week which will include at least one evening shift and occasional weekends. Administrative work to include reviewing and updating training procedures and manuals to meet and maintain industry standards. Hire, train, and evaluate group exercise instructors and assist the Associate Director with the personal training staff. Department duties include participating in the development of programs, departmental objectives, and long range planning by performing research, providing recommendations, and implementing plans as appropriate. Supervisory Responsibility:This position supervises 5 students and 5 - 10 part time staff. Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work:Full-time .5 hours per week. Salary Range:$24.00 - $27.46 per hour. Required Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree or equivalent . - 3 years of relevant experience. Current CPR/ AED certified. Preferred Education and Experience:Master's degree . - 4 years of relevant experience. Experience in group exercise instruction and/or administration. At least one nationally recognized and accredited group exercise certification. Good written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated basis experience coordinating fitness/wellness programs with specific experience supporting the growth and development of group exercise and/or personal training programs in a collegiate setting.
