If you have extensive experience in automotive repair, we would love for you to join our family of exceptional automotive and diesel instructors. The ideal candidate will be an ASE Certified Master Technician with a passion for teaching the next generation of automotive professionals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other related duties may be assigned. Teach 15 credit hours per semester and maintain 5 hours of office time per week. Work independently, as well as in collaboration with colleagues, to develop innovative curriculum which meets the needs of our diverse population of students. Demonstrate knowledge, and have appropriate ASE certifications. Promote a positive collegiate atmosphere and develop relationships with other faculty and students. Advise students including registration, maintain student files and paperwork, including job sheets. Working knowledge and skill of up-to-date industrial trade principles, methods, and techniques. Determine program needs, and maintain program budget including purchasing and cost control. Knowledge of industry utilized equipment and recognition of equipment functionality. The successful applicant will interact with students, business and industry representatives, other educators and educational institution representatives, and the public in a professional manner. Assist in recruitment, advisement, placement, development of cooperative work experience and apprenticeship opportunities for students and follow-up of students. Serve as representative of the department by participating in committees, task forces, and events at the campus, college, and/or state levels. Excellent organization, communication, and presentation skills. Positive and enthusiastic attitude. Coordinate industry engagement with local employers for advisory committee, internship, apprenticeships, and other industry specific needs. Perform all responsibilities and instructional duties in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations as well as CMU Tech policies and procedures. Ensure the maintenance of appropriate approvals & accreditation, maintain and develop the curriculum in step with industry and state requirements. Participate in professional development activities required by ASE accreditation standards that facilitate professional expertise in the areas of teaching, and maintenance of automotive and diesel competence. Applicant will perform other duties as required. Minimum Qualifications Required:Certificate from an accredited institution in related field. Minimum of 4,000 hours of experience in diesel repair in the last 7 years. ASE Certified in all required courses or ability obtain certification(s) in one year. Preferred Qualifications:Associate degree or higher in related field. ASE Master Certified Technician. EV/ Hybrid experience. Diesel repair experience. Evidence of teaching ability and/or previous teaching experience in field. Salary: $50,000-$60,000 Commensurate with education and experience.
