The University of Northern Colorado College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNC COM) invites applications for a part-time Osteopathic Principles & Practice (OPP) Table Trainer to support the clinical skills education of medical students. This role is ideal for a practicing osteopathic physician or OPP educator who is passionate about hands-on teaching and mentorship in a small-group learning environment. The OPP Table Trainer works closely with OPP and clinical faculty to provide laboratory-based instruction, demonstration, observation, and feedback related to osteopathic structural examination and osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT). This position focuses primarily on direct teaching, learner support, and practical examination grading and does not carry expectations for research or scholarly productivity. Successful candidates will join a collaborative, student-centered educational environment dedicated to promoting osteopathic philosophy, professionalism, and clinical excellence. Job Duties and Responsibilities:Teaching and Skills Instruction (80-100%)Provide hands-on instruction, demonstration, and supervision during OPP laboratory sessions across the preclinical curriculum. Coach and observe students at OMT tables, offering real-time formative feedback to improve palpatory skills, diagnostic reasoning, and treatment technique. Reinforce osteopathic principles and philosophy in alignment with course learning objectives and COM competencies. Assist lead faculty with lab preparation, including room setup, equipment organization, and instructional flow. Support student skill development in osteopathic structural examination and a wide range of OMT techniques. Participate in skills assessments, practical examinations, and remediation sessions as assigned. Model professional behavior, respectful communication, and inclusive teaching practices. Depending on FTE allocation, curriculum development and delivery may be added to the job description. Curriculum Support & Collaboration (0-20%)Collaborate with OPP faculty, course directors, and staff to ensure lab sessions align with didactic content. Provide feedback to course leadership regarding student learning needs, lab pacing, and instructional effectiveness. Participate in faculty calibration efforts to ensure consistency in teaching and assessment. Note: The exact distribution of duties will vary based on FTE (0.1–0.4) and course scheduling needs. Minimum Qualifications:DO degree from an accredited college of osteopathic medicine. Training and demonstrated competence in osteopathic manipulative medicine. Ability to teach and demonstrate OMT techniques clearly and effectively in a group and one-on-one setting. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
