As an Assistant Manager at Gelson's, you will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of your store by directing our dedicated team to provide the highest standards of service to our valued customers. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Supervise and support staff, ensuring a positive and collaborative work environment. Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with product inquiries, locating items, and resolving any customer concerns. Collaborate with your team to implement effective merchandising strategies, including product displays, promotions, and signage. Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels, monitoring product expiration dates, and coordinating replenishment orders. Place and receive product orders, ensuring accuracy and proper storage of incoming merchandise. Monitor product quality, freshness, and presentation on shelves, removing any damaged or expired items. Operate cash registers and handle customer transactions accurately. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations. Embrace new challenges and be a flexible team player, taking on responsibilities as needed. Other duties and responsibilities as required. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in a grocery retail setting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Knowledge of grocery products, merchandising techniques, and inventory management. Checking and ordering experience a plus. Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
