As a Public Health Nursing Supervisor 1 within the Harris County Health Department at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.
Job Responsibilities
This position will be based in Hamilton, GA and will function as a Public Health Nurse/ County Nurse Manager in the Harris County Health Department. This is Not a Remote position. You will support the Department by utilizing your expertise to fulfill the following responsibilities:Will plan for client level & population-based nursing services. Evaluate, compile, and submit data and reports by established deadlines. Evaluate supplies, equipment and medication needs and ensure adequate levels are maintained. Monitor clinic activity and modify schedule, as needed. Coordinate peer reviews and protocol signature pages, mock drills, and emergency vaccine storage plans, as needed. Order and approve requisitions for program supplies and medications / vaccines. Identify training needs of clinic staff and ensure training is provided. Identify new community collaborations and/or revenue resources, when applicable. Participate in the Nurse Manager meetings monthly/quarterly
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of nursing experience and completion of a PHN course within one year of hire and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification; or two (2) years of experience at the lower-level PH Registered Nurse Supervisor (HCP 193) or position equivalent. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Professional experience in public health nursing preferred. Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND Two (2) years of PHN experience AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification.
