About the Role:This role will be a valued member of a tight-knit engineering team responsible for a variety of types of GNC (guidance, navigation & control) hardware, including GPSR (Global Positioning System Receiver), RWA (reaction wheel assembly), CSS (coarse sun sensor), ST (star tracker), IMU (inertial measurement unit) or MTR (magnetic torque rod), while supporting multiple programs within LM Space. From procurement, through manufacturing, test, integration and on-orbit operation, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of subject matter experts to learn on the job. This role also includes a significant amount of collaboration with external entities, i.e. customers and suppliers, and may include periods of necessary business travel. Successful applicants generally have at least 3 years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline. - Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering or other related engineering degree - Experience working with hardware development, including build, test, and integration - Ability to clearly convey technical concepts, issues, and status to engineering peers, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders - Familiarity with orbital mechanics - Familiarity with spacecraft navigation and attitude determination - Proficiency in MATLAB and STK Skill Requirements: - Demonstrated experience applying at least one of the following within a GNC or Spacecraft context: Algorithm Development (e.g., estimation, filtering, control laws), Systems Engineering (e.g., requirements decomposition, interface definition), ATLO (Assembly, Test, and Launch Operations) or Hardware lifecycle support (e.g., integration, test, or operations) - Knowledge of Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) subsystems (i.e. understanding how components such as GPS receivers, IM - Us, star trackers, reaction wheels, etc., contribute to spacecraft state estimation and control) - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the Security Clearance / Work Authorization: - To meet requirements of the program/customer, this position requires the selected employee to be a U.S. Citizen. - Although not required to start, the selected applicant must be eligible to obtain, and maintain, Top Secret with adjudicated SCI Eligibility (i.e. TS/ SCI) for long term employment on this program
