The Senior Accountant of Compensation is a highly motivated and energic accounting professional, that thrives in a fast - paced dynamic environment. This role will play a key part in our Americas (US and Canada with support in LATAM) and Corporate close process, providing hands on preparation, support, analysis, and partnership with all key stakeholders overcompensation accounting. Ensuring compliance with internal controls, audits, and management reporting. The successful candidate will also be organized, efficient and effective, and have an ability to consistently meet month end, quarterly and yearend reporting and audit deadlines, while delivering high quality, accurate results. Your Impact - Prepare journal entries, analyses, and balance sheet reconciliations for payroll actuals, payroll accruals, bonus, benefits, insurance, relocation, mobility, PTO, deferred comp and other compensation areas. - Prepare and post payroll journal entries to the general ledger. Ensure all payroll transactions are accurately recorded and properly classified. - Assist in the preparation of segment and consolidated financial statements, variance analysis, and support the external audit through communication with auditors as point of contact for requests - Prepare financial schedules to assist in variance analysis reviews for close meetings, own follow ups and documentation of late entries or adjustments to ensure completeness and accuracy over financial reporting - Partner with key accounting and finance departments such as Payroll, Treasury, Tax, FP&A, and Risk/ Legal, to ensure accurate and complete accounting over compensation areas - Ensure accounting mapping of payroll master data to General Ledger is accurately and timely updated - Support Corporate Accounting management for all compensation accounting, including nonrecurring matters, developing and implementing robust internal accounting controls, including detailed standard operating procedures for all accounting activities. - Support the coordination of the annual external audit and internal audit processes - Research accounting guidance and provide implications to leadership and relevant accounting - Support management in the implementation of accounting system improvements, transformation efforts as key partner to execute on these strategic initiatives - Assist with preparation of the global close process and efforts to support delivering consolidated financial statements - Collaborate across regions and business partners regarding preparation of quarterly internal reporting packages. Qualifications - Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment - Ability to act and operate independently to accomplish objectives and meet deadlines - Ability to deliver consistent, timely and accurate information and reporting - Outstanding knowledge and application of US GAAP - Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to effectively present to and engage with a wide range of internal and external audiences - Strong analytical skills coupled with good decision-making skills - Excellent working knowledge of financial statements and good understanding of tools to benchmark disclosure practices EDUCATION AND/ OR EXPERIENCE: - Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field - Accounting systems experience (SAP and Blackline preferred) - Strong expert level excel modeling skills - 3 years of relevant experience in large multinational public companies preferred - CPA license preferred but not required OTHER REQUIREMENTS: - Demonstrates a commitment to Under Amour’s values of Love the Athletes, Celebrate the Wins, Stand for Equality, Act Sustainably and Fight on Together - Energetic, hands-on, resourceful self-started who can partner with all levels and functions of the company and takes a consultative and collaborative approach - A team player who can manage cross functional involvement for the purpose of getting to a common goal - Excellent leadership and influencing skills - A resilient leader who is comfortable in fast-moving, dynamic environments and adaptable to change - Innovative, intellectually curious, enthusiastic and creative - Passion to scale and grow a complex business. Workplace Location Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore (HQ) office. Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 4 days in-office per week.
