The Employee Services Supervisor is responsible for supervising and leading a team of timekeepers for the Public Safety Service Area. This position will also supervise the People Services Team, which includes organizational management and personnel administration professionals. The Employee Services Supervisor is both a leader and subject matter expert in the Public Safety Service Area, providing lead work on projects such as reorganizations, bureau change management, and process improvements. A vital part of the role will be to provide excellent customer service to managers and staff, to achieve desired outcomes and maintain compliance with applicable policies. The position duties will vary from day to day, ranging from routine to difficult and will be creatively challenging. Responsibilities Include:Managing payroll processing for Public Safety bureaus, including creating policies and practices to address business needs and communicating complex issues to staff and management. Developing process improvements for payroll, organizational management, personnel administration, hiring, onboarding and offboarding. Overseeing staff in charge of Organizational Management, Personnel Actions and Payroll. About the Public Safety Service Area:The Public Service Safety Area (PSSA) aligns public safety resources and systems to improve services to, and outcomes for, the community. This team is responsible for ensuring that the public safety bureaus and commissioners-in-charge lead and maintain a coordinated and strategic effort to plan and implement community driven policy reforms across the public safety system. To Qualify
Applicants must meet each of the following qualifications per HRAR 7.01: Hold regular status in this classification, and have. Passed probationary period. Or. Hold limited duration status in this classification. The following are the knowledge, skills and abilities that the bureau has identified as critical and your resume should include/highlight these areas. Experience supervising staff, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, training, and offboarding. Experience overseeing timekeeping, personnel administration, and organizational management programs. Knowledge of human resources principles, practices, and enterprise HRIS systems (preferably SAP). Ability to analyze and evaluate business needs, exercise independent judgement within policies and guidelines, and recommend appropriate solutions. Ability to manage complex projects, including developing workplans, setting priorities, managing resources, and delivering results within specific time constraints. Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders and present information to executive management.
