Operation and Project Manager currently specializing in Faith-based Book Publishers, Ministries and Non-profit organizations is a senior-level leader responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a face-paced warehouse pick-pack-ship facility, including warehousing, inventory management, high level client-service oversight, order fulfillment, and transportation. This role focuses on a continuous improvement and project management model…driving efficiency, ensuring safety, maintaining profitability and managing site performance against KPIs. Often a hybrid role, this position combines high-end strategic planning as well as daily hands-on operational management. This Operations and Project Management position will report to the Local Site Director and National VP of Operations and work to drive for excellence across all aspects of a high-velocity warehouse operations including, receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping. They are responsible for building and maintaining a high performance team, optimizing workflow, managing the client relationship at the highest levels and ensuring profitability (P&L) for the facility at or above industry standards. Core Responsibilities: Operational Management, Leadership, and Vision: Assist in charting the course for the site and all aspects of on-site warehouse operations to ensure efficient accurate and timely processing of all products and orders. Ability to positively negotiate and possess conflict-resolution skills. Project Management: Create, Modify and Implement continuous improvements is systems and services. KPI Management: Define and drive performance improvements in key metrics, such as order accuracy, on-time fulfillment, inventory accuracy, warehouse throughput and financial success. Relationship Management: Be one of the primary contacts for all executive-level customers, maintain regular reviews and to ensure 3 PL services meet and exceed expectations. Financial and Budgetary Oversight: Assist in managing the facility’s profit and loss statement and reporting, including labor costs, inventory shrinkage, overhead and building upkeep. Implementing tight accounting methods and oversight including multiple checks and balances. Implement Lean principles, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practices to reduce costs and improve service levels. Use and understanding of supply chain analytics and process optimization. Staff Management and Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach and develop a team or warehouse managers and associates/team leaders, fostering a culture of safety and accountability. Safety and Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols (OSHA), regulatory standards, and quality management systems. Technology: Leverage Management Systems (WMS) and automation to streamline processes. Typical Performance Indicators (KPIs) On-time shipping percentages Accuracy percentages Inventory control, cycle counts, minimize stock discrepancies Costs and margin per order Budget “Forecast to Actual” comparison and analysis. Safety incident reporting and rates Customer Service Level Agreements (SLA) Compliance
