The Monitor Technician/ Clinical Secretary continually monitors cardiac rhythms on a specific unit, identifies and interprets changes in rhythms and acts appropriately. Performs clerical duties on a nursing unit, answers the telephone, relays Messages, and acts as a receptionist receiving and directing visitors and ambulatory patients. What you will do. Telephone and patient call bells are answered in a prompt & appropriate manner, redirects calls and patient requests promptly to appropriate staff. Utilizes Service Response Center in a timely manner. Obtains, stocks and organizes office supplies. Maintains label book and logbook. Orders are transcribed accurately,Charts are in appropriate order,Charts are flagged & labeled appropriately for verbal orders,Files labs & other reports accurately, assures all referrals and consults are initiated appropriately. Verifies with nurse on admission and every shift patient on telemetry. Education Qualifications. High School Diploma with the successful completion of Medical Terminology and Monitor Tech course preferred. May substitute 2 years previous specific work experience with medical terminology for the Medical Terminology course certification. (Example: HIM Tech, Paralegal, Medical Biller, Medical Secretary, Patient Access Representative) Required. Experience Qualifications. MT/ Clerical experience Preferred. Skills and Abilities.
