The Outpatient Clinical Nurse role at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center supports high-quality, evidence-based care in an outpatient clinical setting within [Department information not provided]. The Outpatient Clinical Nurse coordinates and implements patient care across the continuum, collaborating closely with an inter-professional team to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care for patients and families. The Outpatient Clinical Nurse also supports team development through training, coaching, and resource stewardship to promote optimal outcomes. The ideal candidate for the Outpatient Clinical Nurse role is a graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred, who holds a current Texas Registered Nurse license and required life support certifications, and who demonstrates readiness to provide high-quality outpatient care with or without prior registered nurse experience, with oncology or specialty certification preferred. Salary: Min 68,000 / Mid 105,000/ Max 142,000 Shift / Hours: Monday - Friday / 10:30 pm - 7:00 am and/or 6:30 pm- 7:00 am/ Rotating weekends: Saturday & Sunday / Holiday and On-Call Location: Texas Medical Center Why Us? EDUCATION - Required: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing - Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree Nursing. WORK EXPERIENCE - Required: None LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS - Required: RN – Registered Nurse – State Licensure current State of Texas Professional Nursing license upon hire, ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support upon hire, and PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support upon hire if working in the Nrsg Post Anesthesia Care Unit (600160) - Preferred: OCN – Oncology Nurse Certification upon hire and certification in specialty practice area upon hire. OTHER REQUIREMENTS - Required: All clinical nurses with less than one year of registered nurse (RN) work experience will be required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program. This position may be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code and therefore may require routine reviews and screening. The ability to satisfy and maintain all requirements necessary to ensure the continued security and integrity of such infrastructure is a condition of hire and continued employment.
