Responsible for supporting and maintaining the District\s existing wireless network infrastructure at all district locations. Performs day-to-day monitoring, troubleshooting, configuration maintenance, and end-user support of the Aruba Wi-Fi environment across indoor, outdoor, and outdoor mesh deployments. This is a career-development position that builds the wireless operations experience, product knowledge, and diagnostic skills required to advance into higher-level network engineering roles within the district. SALARY: Classified Grade BB, $33.48 per hour to start, depending on recent relevant experience. 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday on the 12-month work schedule. Position is eligible for benefits. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Provide tier I/tier II support for wireless connectivity issues across all district locations, including end-user troubleshooting, client authentication problems, device association failures, and resolution of Wi-Fi-related help desk tickets. Perform daily monitoring of the Aruba Wi-Fi environment (indoor, outdoor, and outdoor mesh), identifying faulty or offline access points, coverage anomalies, and degraded performance; open, track, and close remediation work through the ticketing system. Perform routine maintenance of Wi-Fi configuration, including access point firmware updates, SSID and VLAN verification, guest network upkeep, client policy adjustments, and coordination of scheduled maintenance windows. Conduct site walks and basic RF diagnostics at district buildings to identify coverage gaps, interference sources, and underperforming access points; document findings and recommend remediation. Maintain accurate as-built records, wireless inventory, and WAP placement documentation for all district locations; keep network management platform records current as changes occur. Support annual and project-based deployments of new or replacement wireless access points by performing logical configuration, provisioning, and post-installation validation; physical mounting above standard reach is performed by contracted installers or designated district staff. Assist with maintenance of Wi-Fi controllers, Wi-Fi management software, and Wi-Fi related network security configurations. Pursue professional development, vendor training, and industry certifications to expand technical proficiency in enterprise wireless networking. Other duties as assigned. Associate\s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field preferred. Industry certifications such as Comp. TIA Network , Comp. TIA A , or Aruba Certified Associate (ACA) are strongly preferred. EXPERIENCE: One year of practical experience in one or more of the following is preferred: IT help desk or desktop support, wireless or network operations support, Chromebook/device deployment, or K-12 classroom technology support. Prior exposure to enterprise wireless environments, ticketing systems, or multi-site network monitoring is a plus. Demonstrated aptitude, hands-on project experience, or relevant certifications will be considered in place of formal work history. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT: Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal, analytical, troubleshooting, decision making, multi-tasking, organizational, customer service, and time management skills. Working knowledge of wireless networking concepts, TCP/ IP fundamentals, 802.11standards, and client authentication methods. Familiarity with Aruba WLAN products, controllers, and management software preferred; demonstrated capacity to develop this knowledge through on-the-job experience, self-directed study, and certification coursework is required. Comfort working in active school environments and interacting professionally with staff, students, and administrators. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: Colorado Driver\s License and proof of insurance. SUPERVISION/ TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITY: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
