Acrylic Glass Buffer / Polishing Technician. Pay Rate: $15- $16/hr DOE - Full Time. Location: Houston, TX 77073 Schedule: 7 am to 3:30 pm, M-F - OT Available. Overview. We are looking for a detail-oriented Finishing Technician to join a production team. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to transform raw, machined, or scratched acrylic into crystal-clear pieces using various buffing, sanding, and polishing techniques. What You’ll Do. Surface Restoration: Use wet and dry sanding techniques (progressing from coarse to ultra-fine grits) to remove saw marks, scratches, and burrs. Buffing & Polishing: Operate high-speed buffing wheels and handheld rotary tools with specialized polishing compounds to achieve a high-luster, "optical" finish. Quality Control: Inspect finished parts under high-intensity lighting to ensure they are free of hazing, swirls, or imperfections. Material Care: Manage heat buildup during the polishing process to prevent warping or "crazing" (micro-cracking) of the acrylic. Maintenance: Keep your workspace and polishing equipment clean to avoid cross-contamination of grit and compounds. Requirements. No Experience necessary, will train. Experience as a car detailer is beneficial. Attention to detail; you can spot a smudges or scratches. Steady hands and the patience required for repetitive, high-accuracy work. Familiarity with power tools (buffers, sanders, grinders) and an understanding of how different compounds affect plastic surfaces is beneficial Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks requiring manual dexterity.
