Develop, implement, and assess a holistic Student Life program that supports the academic mission and student development goals of the college. Coordinate and manage student programs, awareness campaigns, and other student-focused activities. Regularly evaluate program effectiveness and make improvements based on feedback and institutional needs. Promote the establishment and active participation in student organizations, including Chartered Student Organizations (CS - Os) and Registered Independent Student Organizations (RIS - Os). Provide guidance, training, and support to CSO and RISO advisors, faculty, and staff to enhance the student organization experience. Maintain and update policies and procedures related to Student Life, ensuring they are aligned with best practices and institutional goals. Offer training and support to students, faculty, staff, and organization advisors regarding Student Life policies and procedures. Oversee and maintain records of Student Life program expenditures, ensuring adherence to budgets and accurate monitoring of student fee account balances. Design and implement leadership development workshops and team-building training to empower students and foster a strong campus community. Oversee the Kahua Ola Basic Needs Center, providing supervision for student employees and managing day-to-day operations. Offer proactive advising to students facing basic needs challenges, connecting them with resources and services as needed. Assist students with enrollment in relevant programs or applications for basic needs services. Collaborate with counselors to provide outreach, recruitment, and student support services, including orientation, registration, and enrollment. Offer educational, career, transfer, transition, personal, and life planning counseling to students. Provide general information and guidance on financial aid options and resources available to students. Deliver targeted support services to at-risk students, including those with disabilities, to ensure equitable access and success in their academic and extracurricular pursuits. Actively participate in departmental, college, and community service initiatives. Engage in professional development activities and serve on faculty or administrative committees to contribute to the continuous improvement of student life on campus. This position may require working evenings, weekends, and other duties as assigned to support student programming and events. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications (MQ):Master's degree in Counseling and Guidance, Counseling Psychology, College Student Personnel Services, Human Resources (including CTHAR and Personnel), Communications, or a related field, OR - Bachelor's degree in Counseling and Guidance, Counseling Psychology, College Student Personnel Services, Human Resources (including CTHAR and Personnel), Communications, or a related field, plus three (3) years of directly related work experience. Related fields may include: Education (including all degrees in the field), Family Resources, Human Development, Psychology (including all degrees in the field), Public Health, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Sociology, and Student Services Personnel. Desirable Qualifications (DQ):Knowledge of community college philosophy, mission, and purpose. Experience providing counseling or academic advising within a post-secondary institution or educational setting. Proven experience working effectively with student government, student organizations, student publications, and/or campus clubs in a college or university setting. Ability to work effectively with students from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds. Demonstrated ability to train students, staff, and faculty using a variety of teaching and learning strategies. Training and experience in conflict resolution, mediation, and group facilitation. Demonstrated commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion within the academic and campus community. Proven ability to support student success and well-being, with a focus on holistic development.
