The Adjunct Instructor for Advanced Manufacturing is responsible for delivering high-quality, industry-aligned instruction that prepares students and incumbent workers for employment and advancement in advanced manufacturing careers. This position supports workforce development initiatives by providing hands-on, skills-based training in areas such as industrial systems, automation, PLCs, electrical systems, and mechanical maintenance. Deliver classroom, lab, and/or hybrid instruction in advanced manufacturing topics (e.g., PLCs, electrical systems, industrial maintenance, robotics, automation). Develop and update course materials to align with current industry standards and employer needs. Facilitate hands-on training using industrial equipment and simulation systems. Assess student performance through practical evaluations, projects, and exams. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress. Ensure a safe learning environment by enforcing lab safety protocols and proper equipment use. Collaborate with workforce development staff to support customized training for industry partners. Participate in program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts. Maintain communication with students and staff in a timely and professional manner.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Associate degree in Advanced Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or a closely related field (Bachelor’s preferred). Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant industry experience in advanced manufacturing or industrial maintenance. Demonstrated knowledge of industrial systems, including PLCs, electrical controls, and mechanical systems. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior teaching or training experience in a classroom, lab, or industry setting. Industry-recognized certifications (e.g., Siemens, FANUC, OSHA, NCCER, or similar). Experience with customized workforce training or employer-sponsored programs.
