Our Space Operations Specialist I provides leadership and direct support to ensure health and safety, longevity, and daily mission support to on orbit space vehicle(s). This includes space vehicle command and control, telemetry analysis, trending, orbit analysis, sensor calibrations, and anomaly resolution. This work is performed primarily in an office environment at a government site near Denver, Colorado. Some travel and local commute between BAE campuses and other possible non-BAE locations CONUS and OCONUS locations may be required. Responsibilities include:Provide space operational and vehicle engineering support as a subject matter expert for:Space vehicle payload and bus operationsSpace vehicle command and controlSpace vehicle telemetry trending and analysisSpace vehicle operational planning and executionSpace vehicle anomaly resolutionSpace vehicle operational capability assessmentCustomer working groups and reviewsSpace vehicle calibrationsMaintain space vehicle trending softwareUnderstand, use, and modify MATLAB-based trending scriptsSupport models and simulations and interfacing systemsTrack and plan technical refresh hardware and softwareDevelop and updateReports, status updates and presentationsOperational technical ordersRecommended operational procedures (ROPs)Training materials and referencesAnalysis tools (Matlab, etc)Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the SBU/ SSU and the Company. Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environmentEnsure all business is conducted using the highest ethical standards and in compliance with all applicable laws, statutes, and regulations.Identify and ensure required compliance with the government and company regulation, policies/procedures and guidelines; negotiate acceptance/ approval of all program plans with internal interfaces and the customer.Employ proactive risk and opportunity management processes and practices to mitigate or capture potential program issues and improvements.Create a motivational environment where team members understand the mission, are fully engaged and empowered to execute, and are recognized for their performance.Resolve conflicts, demands and priorities on assigned programs.Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.Perform other duties as necessary.Required Education, Experience, & Skills Four or more years of experience in the field of space operations. Related fields will be considered if applicant has a strong background in math, science, and technical applications.High School diploma. Associates degree or undergraduate degree are desired but not required.Ability to use analysis tools (STK, Microsoft Suite, other software tools).Ability to maintain continuous inter-organizational and outside customer contacts within the Space Operations Community agencies and related government agencies. Ability to represent the customer at Space Operations Community or other meetings.Demonstrated ability to:Be wholly at ease and comfortable interfacing with government customers, co-workers, and teammates within industry and the government at all levels. Interface effectively with people at all levels and seek out responsibilities and opportunities to contribute to the team.Develop solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity, creativity, thorough research, and experience in the Space Operations Community.Able to understand and apply knowledge, experience, and skills to the toughest tasks and problems without supervision.Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills #FER 01 #LI-TO 1Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $77809 - $132275Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
