Canyon Ridge is a 157-bed acute, locked psychiatric facility offering services to adolescents ages 13-17, adults and older adults. We believe in an individualized, patient-focused approach to diagnosis and treatment. For some, anxiety or drug dependence looks different from others with the same diagnoses, and in some cases, behavioral health and substance use disorders occur simultaneously. In these cases of dual diagnosis, we treat the patients in the best way possible given their specific needs. Responsible for delivery of quality general and psychiatric nursing care to adolescents, adults, and geriatrics with emotional or psychiatric disorders; serve actively and constructively as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team, supporting the organization and program philosophy of care; to ensure the safety and well-being of each patient. Admissions Nurse focuses on Patient Admission Assessments for patients. The Nursing Assessment is the gathering of information about a patient’s physiological, psychological, sociological status by a licensed registered nurse. The nursing assessment is the first step in the nursing process, which includes the assessment, the analysis of diagnosis, the planning, the implementation and the evaluation. The function of the nursing assessment is to identify the assessment parameter and responsibilities needed to plan and deliver appropriate individualized care to the patient. In addition to nursing, admission assessments, the admission nurse will assist units where needed with discharges, 5150 assessments, and nurse mentoring.
