Professional Development: Ongoing learning and career advancement opportunities. Position Summary: The Monitor Technician, under the supervision of an RN, will perform telemetry monitoring. Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Essential Functions:Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors. Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts. Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Tests equipment for proper working order. Reports equipment problems to supervisor. Required Certification/ Licenses:A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Handle with Care (HWC) is required within 6 months of hire.
