This role oversees investment recovery activity across 132 storerooms in 8 states, supporting a $2.4 B enterprise materials program. The successful candidate will serve as the accountable owner for surplus asset identification, valuation, disposition, and internal redeployment — with direct line-of-sight to measurable financial return. Manages Investment Recovery (IR) function for Xcel Energy. Partners with business areas in disposing of surplus assets to maximize economic return in keeping with the company's social/environmental values. Plans recovery projects and programs in support of business area operations. Attracts, develops, motivates, and retains team of IR specialists and contractors. Partners with internal and external groups to ensure projects and programs achieve all performance objectives. Sets department goals, measures performance, and implements remediation plans as needed. Essential Responsibilities. Partner with internal business areas/asset owners to ensure support of operations. Manage investment recovery programs and projects in alignment with customer expectations/objectives, as well as governing processes/policies. Manage team of IR specialists and contractors. Attract, develop, and retain team. Set goals and manage performance. Leverage external firms (brokers, consultants, buyers, recyclers, etc.) as needed in execution of investment recovery programs and projects. Develop, monitor, and communicate processes/policies and key result indicators related to asset sales, department efficiency, compliance, and customer service. Develop and manage projects aimed at improving results. Minimum Requirements- Bachelor's degree is required. MBA is preferred- Five years Investment Recovery experience required.- Utility Investment Recovery experience preferred.- CMIR (Certified Manager of Investment Recovery) is preferred.- Excellent written and oral communication, project management, and leadership skills.-Equivalent experience in surplus asset disposition, reverse logistics management, asset lifecycle management, or materials recovery will be considered in lieu of direct "Investment Recovery" title history. Preferred Requirements. Experience managing surplus asset programs across multi-site networks (50 locations preferred)Experience in reverse logistics, surplus asset management, or materials recovery operations within distribution, manufacturing, or capital-intensive industrial environments will be considered equivalent to direct utility Investment Recovery experience. Experience coordinating with external brokers, recyclers, and digital disposition platforms (Gov. Planet, Iron Planet, Asset Works, or similar)Demonstrated ability to build and report KPIs tied to recovery rate, write-off reduction, and return-on-disposition. Background in utilities, energy, or capital-intensive industrial environments (O&G, mining, large-scale construction. Exposure to SOX-compliant asset tracking and audit documentation practices. Digital Disposition Platform Experience. SAP Asset and Materials Management Fluency. Data-Driven Reporting and Valuation Capability. Internal Customer Experience and SLA Orientation. ESG, Compliance, and Responsible Disposition. Write-Off Reduction and Recovery Rate Performance.
