Utility Worker II (Water Leak Search)Please note that this position requires working overtime, weekends, holidays, and 24-hour callouts as business needs demand. Colorado Springs Utilities is hiring a Utility Worker II to support our Water Leak Search group. In this job, you will support activities related to fire hydrant maintenance and proper performance. Some of the ways you will make an impact include:Repairing and maintaining critical and non-critical hydrants per our service level agreement with the Colorado Springs Fire Department. Assisting our Water Distribution group with shutdowns during and after normal operating hours. Assisting our Leak Survey Specialists with valve operations and leak search activities. Performing standby operations after normal operating hours. Performing fire flows and fire hydrant flow tests. Who You Are:Relevant and progressively responsible construction or general labor experience is valued. Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license is required. Ability to perform work safely and bring safety hazards to the attention of others. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS:Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work. Positions in this class typically require exposure in all weather conditions. Who We Are...
