Evaluates, prices, and selects profitable reinsurance business that aligns with COUNTRY’s overall reinsurance strategy. Assesses cedent quality and exposure accumulations, while maintaining disciplined underwriting standards. Develops innovative methods to gain actionable insights from reinsurance portfolios, enabling better risk management decisions. How does this role make an impact? Evaluates cedent submissions, exposure data, modeling results, and historical losses to assess risk quality and determine appropriate terms, conditions, and coverage structures. Develops, sustains, and enhances relationships with brokers and clients, gaining a thorough understanding of client portfolios, and advising on risk acceptability and treaty terms. Develops technical pricing using actuarial methods and catastrophe models; assesses accumulation impacts; and contributes to portfolio balance, profitability targets, and cycle management strategies. Structures treaty and/or facultative reinsurance solutions and leads negotiations with brokers and cedents to achieve mutually beneficial terms while adhering to underwriting guidelines. Conducts qualitative and quantitative reviews of cedent underwriting practices, financial strength, and data quality; ensures files meet documentation, regulatory, and internal governance standards. Partners cross-functionally with various internal stakeholders to validate assumptions, refine pricing, clarify contract wording, and support deal execution. Monitors market trends, coverage developments, and underwriting results to inform pricing, guidelines, and portfolio strategy; contributes to process improvements and tool enhancements. Maintains accurate pipeline, referral, and bound records; produces underwriting summaries and performance reports; and supports internal audits, regulatory requests, and compliance reviews. Do you have what we're looking for? Typically requires 7 years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education and training. Continuing education in insurance certification programs (CPCU, A - Re) preferred. Up to 20% travel required in this position.
