Colorado Mesa University is seeking qualified Adjunct Lecturer applicants for the Department of Health Sciences. This position is responsible for teaching class, lab and/or clinicals. The person in this position will teach undergraduate Health Sciences students, which may include teaching in specific specialty areas of Health Sciences (e.g., nursing, medical laboratory technology, radiologic sciences, respiratory therapy, surgical technology, and diagnostic medical sonography). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other related duties may be assigned. The standard teaching load is less than 9 course credit hours per semester or less than 18 credits over an academic year. Provide guidance for undergraduate Health Sciences students in class, lab and/or clinical settings. Give timely feedback on students’ written assignments and clinical competence. Promote positive and productive relationships with clinical agencies, preceptors, and Health Sciences program faculty/staff/students. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to effectively present information to students, colleagues, and clinical partners. Salary: $600-$850 per credit hour. Commensurate with education and experience.?Minimum Qualifications Required:Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited school, in the area in which you teach. (Note: For didactic courses, faculty must hold at least one degree level above the level of the program being taught.)At least one year of experience in the specialty in which you teach. Nursing Minimum Qualifications Required:Possess an unencumbered Colorado registered nurse (RN) license. At least two years as a professional nurse with at least 1 year of experience in the area in which they teach. Must have a graduate degree (a minimum of a MSN) from a nationally accredited school to teach didactic. Preferred Qualifications:Graduate degree preferred. Experience leading undergraduate Health Sciences students in clinical, lab and/or classroom learning. Experience serving as or working with clinical preceptors. Experience in teaching online, in person, and in simulated environments. Proficiency with or experience with Learning Platforms (i.e., D 2 L, Canvas, Blackboard). Experience with creating and/or revising online assessment & evaluation methods and technology. Experience and understanding of student and/or patient confidentiality.?
