Serve as the technical expert for diagnosing, repairing, and enhancing a wide range of electronic systems used across Solid Waste Division facilities, including fire and life safety systems, weigh scales, and monitoring controls. Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and software to perform system evaluations, modify existing infrastructure, and document changes. Design and implement custom solutions, fabricate and install specialized components, and coordinate with electricians and other staff to ensure system reliability and safety. Provide training, maintain detailed records, and support cross-functional efforts to improve infrastructure performance and compliance. About the team. Our work directly supports the division’s long-term vision for a cleaner, more resilient future. Job Duties Supervise and mentor other Electronic Tech personnel. Perform as a technical expert to diagnose malfunctions to fire control/detection equipment, perform repairs, test and locate defective components. Design and participate in confidence testing of fire and life safety systems, document results. Determine required systems support and repair action needed. Design and manage implementing modifications to existing systems such as analog and digital control and monitoring systems; fabricate and install special electronic testing systems. Conduct needs analysis, design solutions, and prepare and deliver proposals to potential vendors or management staff. Set up, operate, troubleshoot and repair various types of common electronic test equipment and other specialized test equipment. Ensure proper operation of equipment through compliance, establish preventive maintenance schedules, practices and procedures. Direct and participate in the installation of various other accessories and auxiliary equipment or software associated with solid waste systems. Test, program, evaluate, troubleshoot systems and peripheral systems and repair electronic weigh scale systems, gates, motorized commercial doors, heavy equipment and components. Perform preventive maintenance; provide training to Scale Operators and other Electronic Tech Staff as needed. Maintain accurate records in building management software and/or other SWD software in connection with work orders, labor, purchases, equipment preventative maintenance, repair modification of equipment and facilities. Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills Qualifications You Bring:Experience as a technical expert to diagnose malfunctions to fire control/detection equipment, perform repairs, test and locate defective components. Design and participate in confidence testing of fire and life safety systems, document results. Experience troubleshooting weigh scales, test, and evaluate. Experience programing and troubleshooting electronic gates. Experience working with industrial flares and igniters. Experience in electronic functions of heavy equipment. Valid WA State Driver’s License It Would Be Great if You Also Bring:Demonstrated experience with solar pumps. Demonstrated experience is gas collection equipment electrical Demonstrated experience motor and pump control programing 3 Yrs experience as a Journeyman electrician.
