Assesses the needs of the inpatient unit/service and develops long and short-term plans. Implements plans, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient operation of the unit. Evaluates the competency of staff and addresses performance improvement issues. Manages the staffing plan and patient acuity to maintain optimal care levels. Provides leadership and guidelines to associates, upholding organizational values and missions. Facilitates communication and collaboration among staff to enhance patient care. Oversees the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for patients and staff. Develops and monitors budgets and resource allocation for the unit. Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Conducts regular performance reviews and provides feedback to staff. Coordinates training and development programs for staff to enhance skills and knowledge. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care that addresses the physical, psychological, educational, safety, and age-appropriate needs of the patient population within the department.
