The Opportunity:If you enjoy combining accounting expertise with leadership, this role offers the chance to oversee accounts payable operations, guide a team, and improve financial processes that support the agency’s mission through accurate and compliant financial management. Key Responsibilities:Directly supervise Fiscal Analyst staff, including assigning work, setting priorities, and monitoring performance. Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily accounts payable operations, including workflow prioritization, workload balancing, and resolving operational issues. Establish clear performance expectations; conduct performance evaluations. Serve as a subject matter expert for accounts payable processes, providing guidance and resolving complex or escalated issues. Collaborate with management, budget staff, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and provide financial guidance related to expenditures and financial operations. Lead continuous improvement efforts for accounts payable and related financial operations. Oversee debit card operations, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded, reconciled, and reported. Required Qualifications:Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data, identify issues, and implement effective solutions in a professional environment Demonstrated ability to effectively use digital tools such as Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications. Demonstrated application of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial reporting standards. Demonstrated ability to evaluate processes and implement improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, or compliance. Demonstrated ability to communicate financial information effectively to a variety of stakeholders Demonstrated ability to use financial or business systems to perform accounting transaction processing functions and reporting. Demonstrated ability to provide lead-level support, oversight, or coordination of financial processes, projects, or staff work. Desired Qualifications:Experience supervising staff in a financial or accounting environment Experience with procure-to-pay operations, financial systems, and internal controls within a governmental setting Experience with statewide or enterprise financial systems and process improvement initiatives. Experience supporting transaction processing system conversions or implementations.
