Incumbent is responsible for a variety of clerical functions in the case management system. Accepts legal filings on behalf of the court. Follows established policies and procedures, is well organized, and detail oriented. Works cooperatively within a team environment to ensure all tasks are completed timely. Substantial independent judgment and ability to work independently is required. Knowledge of various functions of the Clerk’s Office and how it relates to other agencies. Requires extensive knowledge of and strict adherence to requirements and regulations related to the filing of legal documents and court proceedings; accessing court services; accessibility of court records, especially confidential records; and various fees and payment processes. Position Responsibilities
Responsible for processing legal filings for multiple courts, timely and accurately. Enters filings within case management system. Sorts and relates documents in work queues. Complies with and processes court orders. Maintains accurate party information within case management database
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of previous clerical experience required. Must be able to communicate effectively orally, verbally, and in written formats. Attention to detail is a priority. Requires ability to work independently with minimum supervision and promotes teamwork. Preferred Job Requirements and Qualifications. Associates degree or some post-secondary education. Clerical experience in a court or similar legal setting.
Working Conditions
Essential functions are regularly performed in an office setting without exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Physical Conditions. Sitting at a desk the majority of the day. Some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10) pounds. Tasks may involve extended periods of time at keyboard or workstation. Tasks require the ability to perceive and hear sounds and see visual cues or signals. Tasks require the ability to communicate orally
