CUMULUS MEDIA | INDIANAPOLIS/ KOKOMO/ MUNCIE is searching for a Staff Engineer. The Staff Engineer assists the engineering team in these fast-paced markets with the installation, maintenance/repair of studio equipment, transmitting and ancillary equipment to maintain competitive signals in the markets while complying with all FCC technical requirements. Includes: assisting with telecommunications, computer and networking systems. Key Responsibilities & Qualifications. Key Responsibilities: Maintains radio station operations through preventative and corrective maintenance. Follows routine maintenance procedures and schedules for electronic equipment. Follows routine maintenance procedures and schedules for studios and radio tower sites. Performs necessary measurements of electronic equipment performance. Installs and performs maintenance on mixing consoles, automation servers, audio routers, recording equipment, microphones, digital audio systems, transmitters, antennas, control systems, remote equipment, etc. Assists with maintenance and support of computer networks, servers, workstations and related systems. Provide coverage in the absence of other engineering staff. Rotating on call. Tracking of vehicle fleet maintenance. Facility HVAC knowledge and operational maintenance. Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of applicable FCC rules and regulations preferred. Computer literacy in or the desire to learn applicable software packages which may include (Microsoft OS, MS Office Suite, and radio automation software, etc.)Ability to troubleshoot electronic equipment to the component level preferred. Ability to assist in troubleshooting and repairing AM and FM transmitting facilities. Knowledge of electrical systems, UPS and generators. Knowledge of telephone systems such as POTS, ISDN, T 1, DSL and PRI circuits, and VOIP - Interact with management and staff at all levels. Ability to multi-task and handle pressures and deadlines and skills in prioritizing. May be required to lift 50 pounds. Ability to climb stairs and ladders. Minimum 1 years in broadcast engineering or related field. Education and Licensing:Associates or technical degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent level of experience. SBE Certification a plus. Must possess valid state driver’s license and pass a background check including a satisfactory driving record
