The Clinical Practice Specialist supports doctoral clinical education by coordinating compliance, contracting, and clinical site development activities within the doctoral program. This role is responsible for ensuring doctoral students, faculty, and preceptors meet state, accreditation, and clinical partner requirements, including licensure, credentialing, and regulatory alignment. The Specialist also develops and maintains relationships with clinical partners and preceptors, manages EXXAT workflows, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely, compliant, and high-quality doctoral clinical placements. Primary position responsibilities:Coordinate preceptor onboarding and engagement, including collection of required documentation (W-9 s), processing invoicing or honoraria, managing preceptor gifts when payment is declined, and issuing certificates for recertification credit. Manage clinical placement coordination and handoffs by matching students with approved preceptors and sites, releasing appropriate placement forms, and facilitating clear communication between students and preceptors to support successful clinical experiences. In collaboration with Assistant Dean of Academic Practice Partnerships identify, vet, and maintain clinical sites for advanced practice placements, including initial site evaluation (e.g., ensuring preceptors meet nurse qualification requirements), supporting site approval processes, and maintaining accurate site records. Develop and sustain clinical partnerships, with an emphasis on local relationship building and support for students completing out-of-state clinical experiences, including assistance with identifying contacts and navigating site requirements. Collaborate and coordinate with Clinical Compliance Manager to ensure contracting and compliance processes related to clinical, project and practice experiences, including EXXAT contract workflows, liaison activities between the College of Nursing, Belmont Legal, and clinical partners. Oversee student, faculty, and preceptor compliance requirements, including verification of student RN licensure, faculty licensure for out-of-state rotations, credentialing of preceptors, and adherence to state Boards of Nursing regulations across jurisdictions. Administer clinical education systems and troubleshoot issues, including onboarding students and preceptors in EXXAT, entering and maintaining site and preceptor data, supporting placement requests, and resolving time-sensitive clinical site issues such as cancellations or last-minute changes. Technical, Computer, and Software Skills: Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and basic databases and software. Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations. Ability to thrive in an environment of hard work. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Required Education. Bachelor's degree is required. Required Experience 1-3 years experience in healthcare and/or academic settings is required. 4-6 years experience is preferred.
