East Stroudsburg University is hiring a Director of Student Accounts! Located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, ESU’s proximity to New York City and Philadelphia provides convenient access to internships, careers and social activities. Just minutes from campus are the country’s largest water parks, scenic Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area, Appalachian Trail, and other opportunities for recreational fun. As the Director of Student Accounts, you will need to skillfully execute the coordination of student billing to assist with the collection process along with flawlessly allocating the correct amount of funds to student accounts. You will be an active member of the Business Office team and will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer serving as support for the financial health of the institution by innovating procedures centered on efficient operations to positively impact the customer experience. You will thrive in this role if you like combining your business background and extensive student accounts experience all while tactfully leading your team to provide comprehensive counseling students & their families on resources offered to them. To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate an excellent level of detail, possess strong supervisory skills, and be able to manage complex processes in a student-centered and compliance-driven environment. Your normal hours will be Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm but you may have to flex your schedule from time to time based on the needs of the business to be a true Director of Student Accounts. When our team shows up for work, they are energized and motivated to succeed - all while being the most crucial piece to keeping the ESU operations humming. What Will I Do At ESU? (AKA Essential Duties)Oversee the collection of outstanding student balances, document clear procedures, and collaborate with Administration and Finance to develop strategies and metrics to reduce student receivables. Ensures that federal, state, and other reporting requirements are timely, including the A 133 audit, FISAP, and other mandatory filings. Develop and maintain a Student Accounts procedural manual that supports fiscal controls and compliance with university funding directives. Identify and implement more efficient processes and procedures in accordance with U.S. Department of Education, PASSHE, ESU, and NACUBO standards. Develop materials and conduct presentations and workshops that educate students on financial literacy and responsibility. Manage the Accounts Receivable module of the student information system. Act as systems administrator for the online payment gateway ancillary system. Work with enrollment systems manager on rolling out module enhancements and system updates. What We're Looking For (AKA Qualifications)Bachelor's degree in business-related field; Master’s degree preferred. Five or more years experience in Student Accounts with extensive knowledge of Title IV cash management regulations and administering federal and state aid programs. Demonstrated experience with providing projections for 1-2 years for budgeting. Minimum of 3 years supervising staff in a highly controlled environment. Working in a union environment helpful. Experience-using Banner, PeopleSoft or another major student information system helpful. Possess the polished ability to pivot between tasks that may interrupt handling detail-oriented work. Demonstrate the ability to navigate time constraints and communicate updates in a deadline-oriented environment. Able to read, write, and comprehend English; able to follow verbal instructions. Experience with Word, Excel, Teams required. What We Offer.
