The incumbent in this role will work within the Business and Administrative Services Section to support the financial functions of the Department of Support Services. Responsibilities include preparing, interpreting, updating, and maintaining financial reconciliation reports for balance sheet accounts; and performing fiscal support activities related to processing high level financial documents. Additional job duties include receiving, coding, processing, and maintaining a variety of purchasing requests, payment requests, maintenance agreements, invoices, account receivables, and responding to inquiries from employees and vendors regarding payment, purchase status, and other financial information. The ideal candidate will manage multiple competing priorities and possesses a strong knowledge of the County’s financial system (Oracle) and County Purchasing requirements. Essential Duties. May supervise staff including assigning and prioritizing job duties, making employment decisions, evaluating performance, and ensuring adequate training and compliance with policies and procedures, while maintaining a healthy and safe working environment. Coordinates and administers capital and/or operating budgets. Plans and prepares revenue histories and projections for use in budget preparation. Prepares budget reconciliations. Serves as point of contact for department staff and the Financial Services department. Researches, interprets, updates, and maintains a variety of records, databases, and/or logs. Prepares, interprets, analyzes, reviews, and submits a variety of reports, reconciliations, work papers, communications, schedules, tables, and/or statements to and from internal departments, financial institutions, and external agencies. Processes and reviews a variety of transactions involving purchase orders, accounts receivables, requisitions, invoices, accounts payable, and contracts. Monitors compliance with established policies and procedures. Oversees contract administration and related documents. Prepares Board of Commissioners agenda items, Change Orders, Guaranteed Maximum Price and appropriately retains documents in accordance with applicable rules and regulations. Grade. The grade for this position is C 41(1). Salary will be dependent on education and experience. Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program. Minimum Qualifications. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a closely related field AN - Dtwo years of professional level accounting experience OR - An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
