Responsible for overseeing and monitoring students with attendance and enrollment issues. Assists students and families with referral and consultation services. MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Advises school administration on students' attendance issues that are in violation of the Compulsory School Attendance Laws of Texas. Schedules and conducts home visits to investigate cases of non-attendance, counsels and provides appropriate information and/or referrals to parents, students, school staff members, and community agencies. Conducts daily phone contact with school attendance personnel to report results of investigations and follow-up on specific attendance problems. Documents results of consultation with parents, students, school staff members, and community agencies. Compiles and prepares court cases and represents HISD in court against person(s) having parental control as outlined in Section 4.25 of the Texas Education Code. MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED - Performs other job-related duties as assigned. EDUCATION - Associate’s Degree. Equivalent and directly related education and experience, as determined by Human Resources and the hiring manager, may be accepted in lieu of an Associate’s Degree. Equivalent experience is 2 or more years in a related field in addition to the minimum experience requirement of 1 year. WORK EXPERIENCE 1 to 3 years. SKILL AND/ OR REQUIRED LICENSING/ CERTIFICATION - Microsoft Office, Chancery. Office equipment (e.g., computer, copier)
