The Production Trainer is responsible for delivering effective, standardized training to production operators and maintaining accurate training documentation. This role ensures new hires and existing employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform successfully. The Trainer works closely with Team Captains and Supervisors to assess training needs, implement development strategies, assess and document skills, and supports a high-performance production environment. Key Responsibilities: Onboarding & New Hire Integration. Support onboarding needs for new recruits, ensuring a smooth transition into production roles. Assess performance during the first two weeks and provide feedback to leadership. Hands-On Station Training Deliver and monitor standardized training at workstations using SW - Is (Standard Work Instructions) and hands-on demonstration. Monitor operator’s performance and provide immediate feedback as needed. Cross-Training & Flexibility Development Identify and coordinate cross-training opportunities in alignment with production needs and Skill Tracking resources. Coordinate with Team Captains to build team flexibility without disrupting workflow. Training Evaluation & Documentation Evaluate training outcomes and accurately document operator progress in Skill. Station/ Skill. Matrix. Maintain up-to-date records and track readiness for skill level changes or retraining needs. Communication & Collaboration Engage in daily communication with Team Captains and regular check-ins with Supervisors to align on training needs, schedules, and outcomes. Provide timely updates on training effectiveness, onboarding progress, and any issues impacting production. Time & Workflow Management Balance daily responsibilities to ensure majority of time is spent on-floor delivering training. Maintain efficient scheduling, minimize production impact, and adhere to clear training agendas. Qualifications: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; demonstrates initiative and a self-starting mindset. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess training needs and adapt methods as necessary. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex processes clearly and provide constructive feedback. Strong organizational and time management skills to balance hands-on training and administrative responsibilities. Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred. Familiarity with Skill. Station or similar training management systems. Proven ability to deliver structured, hands-on instruction and accurately assess operator performance.
