Assist in conducting intake examinations for incoming animals, including physical assessments, vaccination administration, and sample collection for diagnostic testing. ? Participate in the management and treatment of medical cases under the supervision of our veterinary staff, gaining experience in diagnosing and treating a variety of conditions. ? Learn to properly handle and restrain animals for examinations and treatments, ensuring the safety of both the animal and the medical team. ? Support surgical procedures, including preparation, monitoring of anesthesia, and post-operative care. ? Engage in daily care practices for shelter animals, including feeding, cleaning, and enrichment activities. ? Gain experience in the use of shelter software for updating medical records, tracking animal outcomes, and documenting owner surrender information accurately. ? Collaborate with shelter staff and volunteers to promote animal health, welfare, and adoption. Learning Outcomes: ? Develop a comprehensive understanding of shelter medicine, including common diseases, treatment protocols, and preventive care strategies. ?
