We are currently seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer to help serve our connection of clients and community. This role ensures compliance with IDOT standards, specifications, and contract requirements while maintaining accurate documentation and coordination with contractors and stakeholders. This role will be based out of IDOT District 7. Applicants must have Documentation of Contract Quantities Certification! Assist the Resident Engineer with daily inspection and oversight of construction activities to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Perform and document quantity calculations, material tracking, and pay item verification in accordance with IDOT requirements. Maintain accurate daily diaries, inspector reports, and project records in a timely manner. Conduct field measurements and coordinate material testing to ensure quality control and assurance compliance. Coordinate with contractors, utilities, and agencies to resolve field issues and maintain project progress. Monitor and enforce safety standards, traffic control, and environmental compliance on the project site. Support project documentation reviews, audits, and final record compilation in accordance with IDOT standards. Active IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities (DCQ) Certification is required. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Working knowledge of IDOT Standard Specifications, policies, and procedures. Experience with construction documentation, quantity tracking, and field reporting. Strong communication and coordination skills for working with contractors and project stakeholders. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
