About this Job
The Head Coach of Women’s Basketball works as a member of the LSUS Athletics Department managing the full range of tasks and responsibilities for the Women’s Basketball program and team. Provides leadership and direction for the program and implements strategies to attract and retain qualified student athletes. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the LSUS Director of Athletics. This summary is not intended to be a comprehensive or all-inclusive description of duties and responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. LSUS values skills, experience and expertise. Candidates who have relevant experience in key job responsibilities are encouraged to apply - a degree is not required if the candidate possesses applicable years of experience. - Three years of coaching experience at the high school level or above. - Must be a hard-working, creative, and team-oriented individual with excellent organizational skills. - Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications: - Master’s Degree from an accredited institution - Three years of coaching experience at the NCAA or NAIA level - Strong professional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.

Job Duties and Other Information
Position Duites & Responsibilities: - Provide positive leadership for overall program operations to position LSUS Women’s Basketball for success within the RRAC and nationally. - Recruiting and retaining qualified student-athletes in compliance with all University, NAIA, and Red River Athletic Conference regulations and policies. - Preparing a competitive schedule and coaching team during scheduled practices and competitions. - Providing appropriate training, discipline, and coaching for student-athletes that leads to a highly competitive women’s basketball team. - Serving as a mentor to student-athletes helping them develop academically, physically, and socially. - Monitoring student-athletes in their academic performance to assure timely progress toward degree completion and graduation. - Organizing and conducting fundraisers for the women’s basketball program that will expand the financial support for the program. - Maintaining responsibility for expense control with all program expenditures. - Attending, when mandatory, departmental staff meetings and special events of both the Athletic Department and University. - Working with the University and local community to help promote and publicize the team and LSUS Athletics. - Embrace the NAIA Champions of Character Program and continuously teach the five core values to student-athletes. - Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
