Lead and support the Mechanical, Layout and Piping Engineering team for projects in the US MMM (Mining, Minerals, and Metals) business. Manage small to large projects, ensuring quality, cost, and schedule adherence. Responsible for the Mechanical and Piping Engineering team's output, technical integrity, and compliance with safety standards. Drive engineering excellence and adherence to industry codes. We seek a self-motivated individual with strong leadership and communication skills, adept at solving complex Engineering challenges. This is a full-time position based at our Mesa, Arizona office. Responsibilities. Lead a discipline project team in the Mechanical and Piping department for Mining, Minerals, and Metals projects. Act as the project lead designer/engineer, overseeing the work of engineers, designers, or drafters. Perform design/engineering work and deliverables within the Mechanical and Piping team. Interpret customer specifications and coordinate/communicate with other disciplines and customers. Support scope definition, estimation, and progress control of Mechanical and Piping Engineering activities. Lead RFP, estimations, detailed engineering, and field support project activities. Ensure familiarity with applicable codes, mining Mechanical and Piping standards, and customer standards. Support quality assurance and verification roles on engineering deliverables. Identify and resolve issues and problems, keeping abreast of the latest developments in Mechanical and Piping Engineering. Act as the Mechanical and Piping Engineering lead on specific projects when required. Ensure project scope clarity and compliance with change management processes. Participate in meetings, prepare progress reports, and follow required checking procedures. Provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. Offer construction management support for customers as required. Liaise with clients, vendors, engineers, and other disciplines. Contribute to the professional development of less experienced team members. Deliver Mechanical and Piping Engineering services meeting Worley, customer, and regulatory standards. Initiate, manage, and supervise Mechanical and Piping Engineering activities to meet project requirements. Participate in the preparation of specifications, datasheets and technical bid evaluation. Participate in site walkdowns, project meetings, design reviews, and incorporation of review comments. Experienced in managing the workshare and multi-office teams discipline coordination and well-versed in working in a multidisciplinary coordination. Monitor assigned activities for effective performance and adherence to established policies and standards. Lead a team to ensure successful delivery for various mining, minerals, and metals projects. Mentor junior or intermediate staff. Plan and identify Mechanical and Piping Engineering resources. In-process activities for engineering deliverables (prepare, review, verify, approve). Coordinate key technical deliverables. Work interactively with internal and external customers, ensuring high-quality engineering products and customer satisfaction. Ensure adherence to government, organization, and customer engineering standards and procedures. Participate in engineering department and section meetings. Demonstrate highly effective technical and practical engineering skills, consistently delivering quality work. Possess sound knowledge of Mechanical and Piping Engineering fundamentals and basic requirements of other engineering fields. Utilize Mechanical and Piping Engineering software and have a working knowledge of Mechanical and Piping 3 D modeling programs such as Aveva E 3 D and Smart 3 D. Competently use relevant software, such as MS Office Suite. Collaborate and develop a strategic pursuit and proposal development of Mechanical and Piping discipline. Develop a Mechanical and Piping discipline proposal write-up including technical, value proposition and vision objectives. Mechanical and Piping discipline specific technical and value improving practices presentations to clients. Review of Detailed Engineering design, documents, drawings, calculation and sealing and stamping for the IFC issuance. Lead plant and infrastructure layout development for mining and minerals facilities, ensuring safe, constructible, operable, and maintainable designs. Develop and review overall plant layouts, plot plans, and 3 D models for processing plants, materials handling areas, utilities, and supporting infrastructure. Ensure layout compliance with mining safety requirements, access and egress, equipment maintenance envelopes, cranage, lifting paths, and operational workflows. Coordinate closely with Process, Civil/ Structural, Electrical, I&C, and Operations disciplines to ensure integrated and optimized layout solutions. Drive layout decisions considering operation philosophy, constructability, modularization, brownfield tie-ins, and future expansions. Review and approve equipment arrangement drawings, conveyor routing, pump and piping layouts, equipment removal paths, and maintenance access. Support site selection, area definition, and battery limit development during study phases (PFS, FS, BFS). Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, constructability, and operability reviews, ensuring layout-related risks are identified and mitigated. Provide layout and field input during site walkdowns, clash resolution, and constructability reviews. Mentor designers and engineers in best-practice mining plant and infrastructure layout principles. Qualifications:Required:Bachelor’s Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience 8 years Lead or Senior Mechanical and Piping Engineer experience . years Mining, Minerals & Metals projects experience. Demonstrated experience developing and coordinating mining plant and infrastructure layouts, ensuring safety, operability, and maintainability. Preferred:Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering would be considered an asset . to 4 years of EPC/ EPCM Mining project experience. Mining regulatory/ MSHA certification and experience. Mechanical Engineering Licensed Professional Engineer in Arizona (or able to obtain in a short-term) State. Experience delivering plant layouts across study and EPC/ EPCM phases, including greenfield and brownfield mining facilities.
