SBA Lending & Portfolio Management Originate, structure, and close SBA 7(a), SBA 504, and SBA Express loans in accordance with SBA SOPs and the banks credit policies. Analyze financial statements, tax returns, projections, and collateral to assess creditworthiness and determine appropriate loan structures. Prepare complete and compliant loan packages for underwriting, approval, and SBA submission. Manage an active pipeline and ensure timely movement from application to closing. Monitor portfolio performance, maintain strong borrower relationships, and support clients through the life of the loan. Ensure all SBA eligibility, documentation, and reporting requirements are met to protect the SBA guaranty. Business Development Identify and cultivate relationships with small businesses, minority-owned enterprises, community organizations, CPAs, attorneys, real estate brokers, and referral partners. Represent Unity at business events, chambers of commerce, minority business councils, and SBA-affiliated organizations. Develop strategies to grow SBA loan volume in underserved and emerging markets. Promote Unity's mission and lending capabilities to entrepreneurs seeking access to capital. Community Engagement Partner with community groups, nonprofits, and economic development organizations to expand awareness of SBA programs and financial resources. Participate in financial literacy workshops, small business seminars, and community outreach events aligned with Unity's CRA and mission-driven goals. Serve as an ambassador for the banks commitment to economic inclusion and small business empowerment. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Credit, Loan Operations, Compliance, and Senior Management to ensure smooth processing and high-quality credit decisions. Provide guidance to internal teams on SBA requirements, program updates, and best practices. Collaborate with Marketing to highlight success stories and promote the banks SBA lending initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field; equivalent experience considered. 3-7 years of SBA lending experience, preferably in a community bank environment. Strong knowledge of SBA 7(a), 504, and Express programs, SBA SOPs, and eligibility requirements. Proven ability to analyze financial statements, assess credit risk, and structure complex loan requests. Demonstrated success in business development and relationship management. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Commitment to the banks mission of serving underserved communities and supporting minority-owned businesses. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet production goals.
